An endless, unwinnable war…
A young peasant soldier destined to die for his betters…
An underworld where demons lurk and time stands still…
There are not enough days for the lesser warrior Tau to gain the fighting knowledge needed to survive wave after wave of battles, to beat the superior nobles that have been trained from birth to destroy him and to gain revenge on the three men that murdered his father.
But what if there was a way of borrowing time…
What if he could trade a piece of himself for such a gift?
When death is your only destiny, what price is too high for life?
I enjoyed this book for its action and for the journey that Tau takes to becoming an unlikely hero. I loved this book for its lore, the author’s creativity, and the way in which the hero overcomes his perceived limitations.
